CADEFOR
(Centro Amazonico de Desarrollo Forestal) or (Amazonic Center for Sustainable
Forest Enterprise) is a service-based non-profit organisation located in Santa Cruz,
Bolivia. The Center was incorporated to provide business management support, technical
assistance and marketing communications support to the certified forest sector of the
Amazonian Basin, whilst initiating activities in Bolivia.
CADEFOR officially opened its doors for business on 29th March 2000. |

To facilitate the further
development of the Bolivian forest sector, it was agreed by the Bolivian Sustainable
forest Project (BOLFOR), the Bolivian Forestry Chamber (CFB), the Santa Cruz Export
Chamber (CADEX), the Forest Management Trust, USA and non-govermental organisations
concerned wiht sustainable development thas a service based organisation should be sert up
to assist the Bolivian \ Amazonian private forestry sector and local communities to
realise their full potencial in the growing international market for certified products.
This decision culminated in the formation of CADEFOR. |
